today we talk about

Effects for Tracks-Groups-Clips V2 in Wavelab Pro

hello everybody Andrew Blake from the digitalaudiomanual.com today we move on to our second video looking at effects for tracks groups and Clips in wavelab Pro but before we start I want to remind you that there's a link below to the free content navigation guide which is an easy to navigate webpage with links to all the content on this channel and besides that in the near future I'm going to begin adding tips and other bits of information that will only be available there you know things like simple steps that will get you started and up and running quick things that are in the videos but are written down in simple steps that serve as quick reminders when you need information down the road if you're working with programs like wave lab or Cubase plugins where the cable guys shaper Box 2 and many many other projects that are in the works then I know you're going to find just like I have that this is an invaluable study Aid and the other thing I want to make sure you understand is that this is not a simple PDF this is a constantly updated page that has any info information that is new or anytime videos are changed really anything updated and once you have it you will always have the latest information constantly updated so if you haven't gotten it already go to the link below click on it and save it to your favorites it's my gift to you and it's absolutely free Okay so let's get started so we're examining how to add effects to whether it's a clip look over on the inspector here on the right a clip a track or an output or the group some of this we've gone through but it all ties together so from the beginning if we click on a clip and we go up to the option that says clip we can just right click in the space here and add our effects you can go over into the inspector area of any track and there's a little icon for effects when you click on that it gives you the option to add an effect and immediately it switches over in the inspector to the track tab and then probably the most specific way is just whatever clip you want to go to if you go down to the name and right click you have an option to always add effects that way if you have set up effects in your master section and at some point you want to bring those into the inspector area if you hit the menu then you have an option in the menu that says import the master section plugins you can also drag effects right from the master into the inspector but in order to do that you have to kind of take the inspector and move it to its own window and then you can take an effect like here I'm going to drag the master rig and I can put it right on the inspector it makes a copy there you can also then right click on the inspector and say dock it to the last place put it right back where it was a couple of Weights remove effects you can just right click on an effect and you can say remove it or you can go to the menu and there's a remove the selected or remove all the plugins and they're all gone if you have you know a bunch of clips and they all have effects you want to get rid of them all at once you can um I always hold Ctrl and shift to select multiple clips if I grab these and I've selected these two I can go up to the menu and there's actually an option that says remove the selected plugins from the selected clips and that'll take plugins off of these two clips or the same extreme option you can say remove all the plugins from the selected clips and take them all out you can rearrange the order of these effects easy just click one drag it to a different spot so you can save effect chains and then apply them to other Clips tracks or groups later so if I have this clip and let's say I put a bunch of effects on it say the master rig supervision and I've put it into these you know effect slots and also if I go to the track and all these uh options in the clean and in the enhance area if I've made a bunch of changes to these as well now all of this stuff what's on the clip and what's on the track can be saved in this effects chain and there's basically looks like there's two places you can do it you could actually hit the menu here and then there's an option in the menu to load or save the plug-in chains but they've also put dedicated little buttons here for it so there's a button here that says lower the chain or there's another button that says save the chain if I click on that then you have the option to give it a name and save it and then all those effects will be stored away then if you want to load it into another clip or track or group whatever you select the clip the track or the group and then you have the option to hit the button that says load the chain and then you can pick the one you want and load it on so then you have the option to copy these effects from one clip to another clip or one track or one output whatever you want from one to the other so you would select it and then go to that slot and select the uh effects you would then go to the menu and you have the option to copy what's selected or copy all I'm going to hit copy all you can go to another clip track or whatever you want at that point you can then hit the menu and you have got a few options here you can just paste it you can paste it and replace or you can paste it to the selected Clips all right so that's going to wrap it up today so the subject of effects turns out to be quite a bit of information here and especially when you're dealing with putting your effects on individual Clips it's something that you definitely want to have a handle on and don't want to be trying to figure it out when you're actually putting tracks together as always if you haven't grabbed the navigation guide be sure to grab that before you go quite a few updates have been put into the navigation guide make it more readable if you haven't checked it out in a while you might want to revisit it that's the reason it's there to try to keep things moving so we don't fall into that frustrated place of what does this mean and what does that mean as we move along and continue to put all this information together in an easy to understand format great to have you guys here we'll see on the next video
